An electric vehicle is a type of vehicle that does not run on an internal combustion engine (ICE) but on an electric battery.

Where did it all begin?

The first electric car appeared long before the development of the internal combustion engine. The prototype electric car was developed in the UK by Scottish engineer Robert Andersen. In France in 1881 was introduced the first three-wheeled carriage Gustave Trove, which was able to develop speeds up to 12 km / h.

Competition with oil companies

This car has many advantages. However, the widespread production of electric vehicles has confused the largest oil companies, which were horrified by the development of the electric vehicle industry. In the early 1990s, California was one of the most problematic regions in terms of environmental pollution in the last century. Therefore, the production of electric cars was justified. General Motors has made every effort to protect the environment. Since 1997, 5,500 such cars from various manufacturers have been sold on the world market. But it was because of changes in the oil market that interest in electric vehicles did not arouse general interest. Therefore, the American company General Motors first limited and then completely stopped the production of such cars. Many American amateur engineers drive electric cars of their own design. Most importantly, the electric car is an opportunity to stop funding Russian terrorism and violence, as well as all their energy resources.

Current state

Although conventional fuel vehicles are dominant, there are approximately 55,852 electric vehicles in the United States alone.

Such electric cars began to be produced in the United States and then in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Japan and other countries, and despite pressure from oil companies, they are becoming increasingly popular.

Features of electric cars:


  • Low energy consumption
  • No toxic emissions into the atmosphere
  • The battery of the electric car lasts for about 3 years
  • Cheap operation: replacement of the check point (check point), oil, filters does not demand superfluous expenses
  • Quiet engine operation
  • Easy control design
  • Ability to recharge the car from a conventional 220 V power supply
  • Opportunity to abandon financing and purchases from russian oil and gas companies and stop supporting terrorism, and thus promote collective security.

The main disadvantages:

  • The efficiency (performance factor) of the engine is 90 — 95%, which corresponds to 3 horsepower.
  • Production of batteries from precious metals (silver, lithium).
  • The battery consumes excess power in the event of a failed start.
  • Disposal of batteries containing toxic elements (lead, lithium)
  • Batteries are too expensive
  • Up to 10% of battery power is wasted due to frequent use of the gearbox (Toyota and Mitsubishi have solved this problem by creating a «disk wheel» with an integrated electric motor)


The 21st century has provided many well-known brands that produce electric cars around the world.

At the present stage of production of electric cars, the most popular brands are: Nissan Leaf (Japan), Tesla Motors (USA), Th! Nk (Norway), Mahindra & Mahindra (India), Dongfeng Nissan (China), Phoenix Motorcars (USA), Reva (India) and others. China is a leader in the production of electric vehicles.

Charging station

The charging station for electric cars is a designated point located on the streets of the city to recharge the battery.

Shaem Aggasi, an Israeli entrepreneur, has been investing heavily in the installation of gas stations for electric vehicles around the world since 2007. Many countries that care about electric cars and the environment have joined a project called the Better Place Project, including Denmark, Norway, Great Britain, Portugal. There are currently more than 1,000 charging points for electric vehicles in Europe, China, South Korea, Japan and the United States. More than 40 such gas stations have been installed in Ukraine.

The governments of Norway, France, Germany, the United States and other countries plan to more than triple the production of electric vehicles.

There is every reason to choose an electric car!

So now everyone can be convinced of the truth that an electric car is not only a trend and a philosophy of modernity and the latest technical know-how. Electric car — philosophy of ecological safety, compactness, economy, dictated by the rational choice of man of the present and the future.
